Horsforth Podiatry Clinic has several clients whose pain and injuries relate to a biomechanical function in the lower limbs which has been aggravated by sport. These problems relate to areas such as shin, iliotibial band, knee, arch, heel and big toe. We can give advice on solutions which could assist the recovery with guidance on insoles, footwear, exercise and how you run.

We focus on the way your foot interacts with the ground and try to consider the loads or forces that the lower limb has to contend with during high impact sporting activity. We understand your treatment plan has to be unique to you; where possible we attempt to create a treatment plan that allows you to maintain a degree of training through your recovery.

We can provide a wide range of treatments for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, which cause injuries to the lower limb and foot. Muscuskeletal pain results from muscle and ligament strains, tendonitis and arthritis.

We aim to improve foot function, increase mobility and reduce the risk or level of symptoms, making your activity a pleasure again.

Along with treatment we would recommend foot orthoses/soles, these devices fit inside your footwear and prescribed to a particular MSK problem, helping to improve foot function and your walking or running style.
